Early Childhood Program

Our mission is to engage, nurture, and prepare adult learners in the Montessori Method and philosophy to become outstanding Montessori educators and professionals.

Our vision is that every adult student of the Montessori Training Center of Brentwood be inspired and nurtured to become a life-time learner, excel in their chosen profession, and become a maximum contributor to their Montessori community. Working in partnership with adult students, instructors, field representatives, and heads of Montessori schools will foster educational excellence in Montessori education.

The Montessori Training Center of Brentwood’s Early Childhood Montessori Teacher Education Program offers a summer intensive Montessori certification program at the Early Childhood level (ages 2.5 – 6). This program will provide a comprehensive course of study to prepare our adult learners to be highly skilled, highly qualified Montessori teachers and leaders.

Knowledge of Montessori philosophy and pedagogy through lectures, demonstrations and first-hand experiences will take place in an American Montessori Society Accredited school. Certified and experienced Montessori educators within the community have developed and will lead the courses of instruction to meet the competencies required for certification. In addition, a 9-month practicum placement will allow the Adult Learner to continue reflective practices within a supportive Montessori environment with a mentoring Montessori educator.

This program is designed to be completed within 13 months. However, one may choose the option to defer practicum placement within three years after completion of all academic phases.

Note: MTCOB Early Childhood Adult Learner to Instructor Ratios will not exceed 1:20. Our co-instructor model allows for a 1:10 ratio in most courses.
