It is the admission objective of Montessori Training Center of Brentwood that every adult learner succeed and develop into a contributing member of their local Montessori community by obtaining a Montessori Infant/Toddler (0 - 3) or Early Childhood (ages 2.5 - 6) credential. Admission to the program is only a start. Completion of the program is based upon the work and diligence of each individual with the expectation that the staff and instructors are available for guidance and clarity. All students admitted to the Montessori Training Center of Brentwood must meet the general admission requirements and policies specified below:
The following is a list of items to complete the application process. All items are needed before your application can be processed.
_____ Completed Application Form
_____ Copy of your resume
_____ Non-refundable $100 application fee (Payable to MTCOB) or $200 after May 1 ($100 of which is non-refundable)
_____ Official transcripts of highest degree earned and a copy of any Montessori teacher credential
_____ TBI Fingerprint Report Indicating there IS NO INDICATION of any record that may preclude the applicant for consideration for employment or licensing under the Tennessee state statute(s). (If the student intends to work in a different state, their state Bureau of Investigation report is required that no indication would preclude them from working with children.)
_____ Sign and return the Transferability of Credits Disclosure Form
_____ Three letters of recommendation
_____ An essay of 150 - 250 words explaining why you want to be a Montessori early childhood or infant/toddler teacher and objectives for pursuing the certification.
*Applications for the entering Summer Cohort will be accepted beginning September 1st each year. The deadline for applying for the entering Summer Cohort is May 30th of each year.
